Abstract

n June 2011, the International Labor Conference (ILC) adopted Convention No. 189 (C189) on decent work for domestic workers, as well as Recommendation No. 201 (R201). From a comparative regulation perspective, this article analyzes the role of C189 in the legislative reforms of three Latin American countries that ratified the Convention: Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. The article focuses on the study of the discussions and controversies that explain the way in which the provisions related to working time and remuneration included in the Convention were incorporated into the national legislation related to paid domestic work in these three countries
