Abstract

A few months ago, with the virulent appearance in our lives of the COVID-19 virus, declared at the beginning of March as a PANDEMIC by the WHO, almost unchecked and hit by the images of an unprecedented health crisis - or at least that they had not experienced not even my parents, I wrote an article called the FRATERNITY CHALLENGE. I must also say that I was inspired by the atmosphere of the time where the political and social discussions that were beginning to take place in our country were based on analyzing which country was desirable, or what type of leaders were going to come out of the pandemic with flying colors. And that's how in those days I read an article in the Anglo-Saxon newspaper Financial Times, entitled "Virus puts responsible capitalism to the test". An editorial that It turned out to be quite interesting, since it raised how the latest global economic crisis put the reputation of companies in check. He says that the year 2008 was paradigmatic in this sense. Banks and businessmen were repudiated, and lost a lot of money for it. However, then it returned to the same normality of the financial game of the cruelest speculation. Apparently nothing had been learned from such a crisis. And this is reconsidered with the impact of the virus, which appears as an opportunity to redesign relations between the business world, the state and society, not only to get out of the pandemic, but to have a more responsible system for all actors in the process. As Rousseau says, with the idea of the Social Contract as the basis of freedom, equality and fraternity, in a democratic system, that eliminates inequalities. Ideas that today can be reinforced with a strengthened legal system with human rights in its sights; with the person, diverse, plural, integrated, multicultural and interconnected on stage.
